Biophilia Wellness offers psychotherapy grounded in the understanding that we are shaped by
our histories, our relationships, and the environments we inhabit.

My approach is thoughtful, compassionate, and attentive to the whole person.

My work as a therapist has been shaped as much by life as by formal training.
Long before I studied clinical psychology, I was drawn to questions about suffering,
consciousness, and what helps people move through difficulty with some sense of
integrity. As a teenager, that curiosity led me into Buddhist practice, including time living
in a monastery in the Himalayas. For the next decade or so, contemplative life became
a central thread.

I've also spent decades working in permaculture, living close to the land, learning its
rhythms, and slowly understanding that you watch a system for a long time before you
touch it. That work eventually led me to partner in Living Systems Design, a
permaculture consulting practice. What permaculture teaches you, more than anything,
is to trust the process and that care for people and care for place aren't really separate
things.

We're living systems too, shaped by our histories, our relationships, our environments.
Healing, in my experience, tends to work the same way nature does: not through force,
but through creating the conditions where something can grow when it's ready.

These threads eventually came together with formal psychological training and
research. My clinical work draws on evidence-based approaches, but always with an
eye to the whole person. Alongside this I'm involved in research into peak and
transformative experiences, exploring how moments of profound meaning or insight
affect identity and wellbeing, and how they can be integrated in ways that genuinely
last.

I also work with people integrating significant or transformative experiences, including those
arising through psychedelics, meditation, spiritual practice, or profound life experiences.
Integration can help make meaning from these experiences and translate insight into lasting
change.

At heart, what I do is help people navigate change, and find a gentler relationship with
themselves in the process.
